SANDRA  FAYE  PETERSEN
August 4, 1948  -  July 26, 2010

 
Sandra Faye Petersen, age 61 of Park Rapids, MN and Cozumel, Mexico went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, July 26, 2010. Her final days were spent at her home surrounded by family and friends that she has touched throughout her life.
Sandra was born on August 4, 1948 to Otto and Ida (Kehn) Franke in Buffalo, MN, the youngest of six children. She graduated from Buffalo Senior High. She married Steven Petersen on June 6, 1967 and resided in Montrose, MN for over 35 years. She enjoyed working at Honeywell and retired after 27 years. She was proud of her involvement with the Montrose Lioness Club and Jr. Royalty. She enjoyed traveling to Cozumel, Mexico in the winter months and the family land in Park Rapids, MN for the summer months. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN. Her love was for her family, which included a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Petersen; daughters, Laura (Tony) Dreger of Delano, MN and Sheila (Jon) Varner of Montrose, MN; grandsons: Michael, Derek, Maxwell and Jesse; granddaughter, Isabel; sisters: Annette (Richard) Jenson of Detroit Lakes, MN, Ruthie (Jim) Peavey of Buffalo, MN and MaryAnn Greener of Coon Rapids, MN.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend James Neubauer and Pastor Tim Heinecke officiating. Melissa Koch will be the pianist.  The soloist will be Ann Gallegos and she will sing "Precious Lord Take my Hand".  The congregational hymns will be: “It is Well With My Soul”; “The Will of God is Always Best” and “How Firm a Foundation”. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN and for one hour prior to service on Friday at the church. The casket bearers will be: Tony Dreger, Derek Dreger, Jon Varner, Jeffery Petersen, Richard Jenson and Jim Peavey.
